Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FurFacts (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Eligibility & Account Security

• You must be at least 13 years old to use this App.
• Access requires an account created via email, Google, or Apple Sign-In.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3. Medical Disclaimer (Important)

• Not Veterinary Advice: This App is a record-keeping and organizational tool only. It does not provide veterinary medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment plans.
• Accuracy of AI Features: The App includes AI-assisted features (including breed identification from photos and automatic extraction of information from health record documents), powered by OpenAI. These are automated tools and may occasionally produce inaccurate results. Always verify extracted information — especially dosages, dates, and medical details — against your original records before relying on it for your pet's care.
• Emergency Situations: This App should not be used in place of professional veterinary care during a medical emergency.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• The App offers optional premium features through auto-renewing subscriptions, processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Subscriptions may include a free trial period; unless canceled before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
• Refunds are handled according to Apple's or Google's respective refund policies, as applicable.

5. User Content & Ownership

• Your Data: You retain full ownership of all pet data, medical records, and images you upload.
• License to Operate: By using the App, you grant us the limited right to host, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
• Prohibited Content: You agree not to upload content that is illegal, malicious, or violates the intellectual property rights of others.

6. Data Handling & Third Parties

• The App and its data are hosted using Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure).
• Use of AI-assisted features constitutes your consent to send the relevant uploaded photo or document to OpenAI for processing, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• We use RevenueCat and Superwall to manage subscriptions and present offers, PostHog for product analytics, and Loops for email communications, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Loss of data due to service interruptions or account deletion.
• Inaccuracies in information extracted or suggested via AI features.
• Any health outcomes resulting from the use or misuse of information stored in the App.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
