Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect and Store

• Account Information: When you create an account (via email, Google, or Apple Sign-In), we store your user ID, name, and email address.
• Pet Profiles: Information you enter about your pets, including name, species, breed, birthdate, weight, behavior notes, and photos.
• Health & Care Records: Vet records, feeding schedules, medication logs, and any documents or photos you upload.
• Contacts: Names and details for veterinarians or emergency contacts you add. If you provide us with information about another person, you confirm that you have the right to share that information with us for the purposes described in this policy.
• Onboarding Responses: Answers to setup questions (e.g., how often you leave your pet, what you use the app for) to help us understand and improve the onboarding experience.
• Contact Information Prior to Account Creation: If you begin creating an account but do not finish, we may retain the name and email address you provided so we can follow up. We retain this information for up to 30 days, after which it is deleted if no account is created.

This App is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 

2. Third-Party Data Processing

We work with the following service providers to operate the App:

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database storage, file storage, and backend functions.
• OpenAI: if you use our AI-assisted features (pet breed detection from a photo, or scanning a health record document), the relevant photo or document is sent to OpenAI's API to extract the requested information. This is processed through our own secure backend — OpenAI does not receive any other account or pet data beyond what's needed for that specific request. OpenAI retains this data for up to 30 days for safety and abuse-monitoring purposes, after which it is deleted, and does not use it to train their models.
• RevenueCat: manages subscription purchases and entitlements.
• Superwall: presents subscription offers within the App. Superwall may collect device identifiers, transaction details, and app usage data (such as which offers you view and how you interact with them) to determine which offers to display and measure their performance.
• PostHog: product analytics, to help us understand how people use the App (e.g., which onboarding steps are completed) so we can improve it. This may include device information and usage events.
• Loops: email communications. We share your name and email address with Loops to send transactional emails related to your account and use of the App, such as account confirmations, onboarding guidance, and important service updates.

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not share your pet's health information with advertisers.
• We do not use your data for third-party ad targeting.

4. Data Security and Retention

Your data is stored securely using Firebase's infrastructure, encrypted in transit, and scoped to your account. It remains available as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion.

Deleting your account removes your data from the App and our primary database. Some information (such as purchase records required for tax and legal compliance, or aggregated analytics that no longer identifies you) may be retained by us or our service providers as permitted by law.
